American Airlines has quietly changed gate monitors for West Palm Beach flights, dropping the "Pres DJT" label and returning to "West Palm Beach, FL." The timing is interesting.

Personally I could not care less as I have and continue to avoid setting foot in that alligator infested, natural disaster exposed state where feral imbeciles run rampant.

A major university named a conference center after a donor who gave $5 million to its endowment. A few years later, the donor saw another name on the conference center and inquired. It was named after another donor who subsequently gave $20 million. Times change. New decision-makers enter office. Airports, lakes, oceans, gulfs, straits, etc. can be renamed . . . again. Structures can be taken down. Offices can be redecorated.

Lee - Yep . The airport name was nothing more than a bulletin board self-advertisement .

Most horrible new ideas come out of conferences or meetings ; ( think of the shameful Wannsee conference or the Munich conference ). It would shame the donor to name any conference center or meeting room after a person . All meetings are a captive announcement of a previous decision . Rather than meetings , allow the employees to do whatever they want . Freedom .

Lee, you’re obfuscating how egregious this is/was. We don’t rename airports after sitting presidents; we don’t put living presidents on currency; none of this was appropriate. It’s not the same or even remotely similar to the false equivalences you suggested.

For the 2nd term.

Eskimo, they did… in 2024; and now, it’s 2026, new elections, different offices, and the backlash is clear. Yes, democracy in-action. And, thankfully, unlike 2020, no absurd claims of nonexistent fraud, yet. I mean, if folks wanna do a J6 again, that’d be wild, but also, really, really, dumb.

And now there’s a whole subset of philanthropic advisers and development officers drafting and negotiating Gift Agreements, which enshrine the obligations of an organization for how gifts will be spent, what gets named, for how long, etc…

Doubtful, Scudder. Unlike prior generations of super-rich, this lot doesn’t seem to want to build libraries, schools, hospitals, etc. They want monuments to their own vanity, which, obviously, help no one.

"Inflation caused the government defeat during the mid-terms ."

You forgot corruption, the Epstein files, the War for Israel Against Iran, trafficking, rape, and murder of children, rage against ICE and their brownshirt goons, the lionization of dictatorships, the historic tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, unaffordable healthcare (and the diminution of same), the reductions to the social safety nets, the taking away of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security that *people paid into,* the theft of natural resources in the US and other countries, the war on the poor, the war on science, the welcoming back of largely eradicated diseases, the splitting up of immigrant families (including babies, and deporting children who are forced to represent themselves in courtrooms), the deportation of Americans (oopsie!) to African countries, the cruelty, the greed, the grotesquerie of the Ceaușescu family and their inexhaustible greed, ...well, the list is endless.

It's called Trump Exhaustion Syndrome, and the US is starting to cure itself.

So no, it wasn't *just* inflation.

Nah Willy.

Most voters doesn't give a ^$#% with anything beyond 20 miles away from them.

It's *just* inflation.

Eskimo, no. Willy is right; it was all the above. And how Trump promised the world (America First, no new wars, price of eggs, etc.), but then just grifted, unilaterally went to war, arbitrary tariffs, deporting abuelas, and vanity projects.

This is so silly. Should have never renamed it to begin with. We should not be naming things after sitting presidents. Nor should they be on our currency (already illegal). Nor should he unilaterally be renaming bodies of water. We have a lot of work to do. Time to clean up.

DCA is listed as Washington Ronald Reagan National Airport.
Flight today, will check gate screens. Naming DCA Reagan airport was very controversial at the time (due to him firing the air travel controllers).

Failing to properly hold Nixon accountable, and Reagan-era policy choices (killing the middle class) are what lead us to Trump and this second Gilded Age. Overdue for a new Progressive era, a new New Deal, a return to decency and servant leadership.

Looking forward to him quietly leaving America. Good riddance of this hideously ugly monster.

Which one, Trump, Elon, or other grifters, enablers, and sycophants? All the above?

Part of me hopes this backfires on them in some way, as they should never have made the change in the first place

Libraries?
No one reads anymore.
Schools?
Scamming people with useless education while stuffing them with lifetime student loans.
Hospitals?
United Health.... CVS... I rest my case.

Let them build their statue and leave us alone.
Rather see that than giving free money and bankrupt tax payers.

SAD as it is for an airline, that was my 1. company to earn miles with, . . . just shows again how deep that country has fallen.
I wonder, if any of there flights to Nashville International Airport (BNA) will ever show Dolly Parton's avatar on a boarding gate monitor, . . . because REAL legends (she was honored for it, by the US president, just to remind all out there) will ever get treated like that by AA?
A person who earned the hard way, but gave back . . . try to say that about the orange man! 😮
really too bad, life always strikes the wrong ones first.
AA . . . i might consider VERY hard to have any $ spent on your company again. (UA no exception). Thankfully, there is always choices and some carriers who don't fly extremely dangerous planes from 1 aircraft manufacturer.
AA has deeply fallen over the years since i enjoyed my first miles collected out of JFK, the airline even managed to run down that hub too. 🙁
Politics and Business, i guess some companies just keep forgetting who keeps them in the air these days? Once a hure, always a hure AA!
