I more or less stopped using Airline wifi with security concerns. It was useful at times, but I usually just stream a movie and catch wifi in the lounges.
I do still miss the telephones (CO used to have) offered by Verizon. You just programmed in your Verizon phone number when you boarded, then all incoming calls to your cell phone would ring the phone at your seat. Not used very much - but it was useful at times to get important calls. The cost was low for Verizon phone users.
I think that’s a slightly exciting thing, as noted by Terrence. I used to have GoGo on my corporate Amex non bonus. I tried it on my CSR and now have it in my preferred everyday Amex since it didn’t trigger “travel” on my CSR.
Having American charge for it directly may trigger the airline fee / 5x points on Amex platinum!
I'm a T Mobile customer and was getting texts a couple weeks ago inflight. The biggest problem is that it seems to me 25% of the time or so the wifi doesn't work. I was going to purchase it last night to get some work done since we sat at the gate for 90 minutes while cargo was loaded. But no wifi.

My wife and I have tried for a week to get this new subscription, specifically the 2-device monthly and get an error everytime. We contacted customer service and after 30min they still couldn’t resolve the technical glitch. Anyone else having these problems?
