Air Canada unveiled some details today about their soon-to-be Boeing 787 fleet, and even made a pretty spiffy website about the new plane. I honestly am not expecting much from AC, but am glad that AC has adopted the new reverse herringbone business class suites. I guess they are sticking with Premium economy cabin and the seats look the same as British Airways. The economy seats with nine abreast arrangement are expected.

@ Carfield - FWIW, the video shows 2-3-2 in Premium Economy and 2-3-3 in regular Economy.

These seats are different than the AA, CX, US type, they are the one QR has installed on its 787s. They look more spacious and private, but that may just be the pictures.

Lucky thanks for news. I can now look forward again to flying AC. I NEVER liked their herringbone seats, the whole concept made me feel as if I were at the emergency room of a hospital with very little privacy, or worse, at some 'futuristic' close quarters people-stable in the sky! Honestly, turning my back to the window and having another passenger on my immediate sight, was NEVER my idea of a comfortable Business Class flight. I am glad they finally saw the light and that their new seat product in Business will be the same as is currently found on AA, CX or BR flights!

In terms of floor space, how do the different layouts compare (herringbone, reverse, staggered, etc.)?

I just read your old AC trip report. Man, you had lower standards back then! Best meal in the sky? Most comfortable bed? Favorite airline? Lol!
