While I have to admit that I usually think about these things with a yawn, this post (and some of the links) have gotten me excited about the eclipse. I'll only be able to see it partially in DC, but for those who are able to see the total eclipse, I envy you.
Columbus, IN. I'm 2.5 hrs away from 100% zone but 80-90% is good enough for a weekday!
I actually will be on a plane right at the beginning of the eclipse - 11:25a LAS to SEA. Do you have any recommendations/advice for seeing the eclipse on a plane? I really hope I don't have to miss it.

Linh, the max eclipse in the pacific time zone would hit around 10:20am, so unfortunately if you fly at that time, you'll be in the airport during max eclipse. If you can sneak outside with eclipse glasses, you can see a nice partial eclipse around that time.
I don't know your travel circumstances but maybe you can try to push the trip a day earlier and drive from Seattle to Bend or Salem for the eclipse. Good luck.
