Great post Tiffany! Since I live in Portland, I don't typically take advantage of this. Our wine country is truly beautiful. For others who don't know: Memorial Day weekend is a fantastic time to come as all the wineries are open for tastings and often do music, food and other special events all weekend long. We typically will visit at least a half dozen or more, including several tasting rooms that host wines from multiple vintners.
The next time you're in town visiting, my husband and I would love to meet you and yours!

Does it have to be same day as the flight home, or is there some sort of grace or period in which one's boarding pass would be valid?
Notably, it includes a number of Portland's Urban Wineries (that make wine in the city, not just tasting rooms for vineyards further out) like Hip Chicks, Seven Bridges and Jan-Marc! So you don't even need a trip to the Willamette Valley, just take the Orange line MAX south to Hip Chicks, or the Yellow line north for Seven Bridges and Jan-Marc.
With regards to Sonoma, while Alaska may not give you free tastings, simply having a visa signature card will get you a bunch of free tastings there.
We have been aware of this special offer from Alaska Airlines and really appreciate their offers.
Unfortunately, living in Canada we are only allowed to bring 2 bottles of wine into the country on entry from a foreign country. So have never been able to fully take advantage of the offer.
Simply having an Alaska Signature card will get you a complimentary tasting at many of the roughly 140 tasting rooms in Woodinville, WA as well. It's not available everywhere, you'll have to check the list, but is a great deal if you go to the wineries that participate.
I love this partnership and I hope to see other wine regions and airline try wines-fly-free and similar arrangements... and the hospitality included in this wine tasting program is outstanding. Good for everyone! Cheers!
