Air France offers the world’s best first class ground service, in my opinion, and you can even buy access to this experience if not flying first class, under select circumstances. I want to take an updated look at this, as the price of this has gone up considerably over the years, and access restrictions have…

I flew AF F in march of this year. 3 more months of eligibility! It was a fantastic experience that surpassed expectations. One issue in the lounge- they didn't have adapters for non European plugs. They should.

Lucky, your Air France FB Platinum strategy is very interesting - should be fun to use some miles and have access to this treatment (via La Première) from time to time. Looking at non-US programs this one seems to be of the more attractive for that perk. Now if Bilt would only have another FB transfer bonus…

For North American destinations, CDG to SFO, LAX, JFK, IAD, and MIA have F. All other North American destinations are J at best. Smart to offer it to the luxury traveler but I wouldn't be a buyer.

It’s an unwritten rule that they’ll waive the need to have flown AF F in the last 12 months for FB Platinum members. You have to call and ask for it. I used this service this year and I’ve never flown AF F (but fly J all the time). I needed to join a board meeting while in transit and convinced my CEO that it was a legitimate and worthwhile business expense.

Was that meeting agenda to fire the CEO for allowing employees to waste company resources.

There are a lot of unwritten rules with FB Platinum such as error fares that are being honoured or that you can remove cities from your itinerary without repricing.

AF "La Première" Lounge in Paris is amazing. As a Platinum passenger; I had the privilege to spend 75K miles to upgrade my flight from JFK to CDG. The staff is so kind in NY and in Paris that you have a perfect service. Face massage, the best lounge food and now the possibility to reserve a private appartment for 800 euros.

I'm waiting for the new First class seat in the old 777 and the future A350.

This price is honestly in line with upcoming competition. PS will be opening in Paris in 2025 and the salon price is right around there and it includes basically everything I remember getting in La Premiere. The big plus for PS of course is you can buy a membership to make it cheaper and it'll work with any airline.

If PS CDG is as good as PS at other places as been, I'd honestly just use PS though if I was flying business.

I have a 4.5 hour connection at CDG next Spring. It would not qualify for the paid experience on multiple criteria. But, if it was, and the price was still €300, I might do it.

I just thought of something like this is probably a great data collection opportunity for Air France to determine routes that should get first class.
