Any news on the A340? Is it being retired? I have a flight booked on one in July 2018 (I know it's far away, but it's the only way the Mr and I can schedule vacation!) and on the seat description on the AF website it says "new cabin details coming soon."

"get the seat counts right" as in 50 across in economy or something. I really really like AF but they need to start on this sooner I think. I'd also think the A380s will be getting a bit long in the tooth or lease, or whatever by 2020. Not sure how old their fleet is.

The new first class looks dated in pictures. I know its supposed to be real nice, but its really not the most photogenic product...

Why?
What is the average load factor for their A380s?
It is an expensive plane to fly with low load factors.

The service on AF long distance flights is now amongst the best as is the food . But the A380 is something of a disaster area ...bugged by delays due to technical issues and a shortage of back up aircraft. Worst of all is the outdated business and first class cabins . Now 2 generations behind its main competitors , and the only airline in the world with angled business class flat beds on an A380.
Plans are afoot to reconfigure beginning 2020 , but why the delay ? The truth is that AF is considering retiring 5 of its heavy on fuel and unreliable A380s , and are not sure which aircraft they will surrender,
all are leased except for one ! So they don’t want to invest in costly new cabins at this time.

I am flying AF premium economy in April 2019, long haul to Shanghai on a A380 top deck and 777-200. I keep reading that they are rolloing out new much better premium economy seats on long haul, but I can’t find out which planes have been refitted or if I can expect them on my fights. Can you advise me where I can find this information?
