Air Canada Aeroplan and Uber Eats have announced a new partnership, allowing members to earn Aeroplan miles for Uber Eats spending.
Between June 9 and June 15, 2020, Aeroplan will offer 10x miles for every dollar spent at Uber Eats via the Aeroplan eStore for orders placed in the US and Canada. Personally I value Aeroplan miles at ~1.4 cents each, so to me that’s the equivalent of a ~14% return on Uber Eats spending.
After that, members will earn at least two Aeroplan miles per dollar spent.
To take advantage of this:
- Visit aeroplan.com/ubereats
- Click on the ‘Shop Now’ button and enter an Aeroplan number and last name to be automatically redirected to Uber Eats
- Complete you purchase as normal through the Uber Eats app or website using a new or existing Uber account
Note the following terms to be eligible:
Earn 10 Aeroplan Miles for every $1 you spend on orders with Uber Eats! This offer and any Aeroplan Miles are issued by Aeroplan, not Uber Eats. Offer is not valid with gift cards, cancelled orders, or in any combination with other Uber coupons or promotions. Aeroplan miles amount based on food value only, which excludes fees, taxes and tips.
There are no minimum or maximum order amounts required to receive Aeroplan miles. Limited time only. Please allow 6-8 weeks for miles crediting.
To earn Aeroplan Miles, you must complete your purchase during the same shopping session you start after clicking on the eStore link. Order must be placed within 2 hours of clicking on the Uber Eats offer to be eligible. If you visit other sites before completing your purchase or use coupons not provided by eStore, you may not earn Aeroplan Miles on your purchase. If you disable cookies on your computer you will not be able to earn Aeroplan Miles, as cookies are used to authenticate you and allocate miles to your account.
This is a great way for Aeroplan to engage members while at home, which the program in general has done a great job with. Other initiatives have included a creative status extension with the ability to gift status, the ability to earn status from home, new opportunities to buy miles, and more.
Will you be taking advantage of this new Aeroplan and Uber Eats partnership?
Do you have to order through the link every time? So this would would be in lieu of Rakuten? Or is there a way to set it up like Delta for Lyft?
They’ve been giving away Aeroplan miles like candy, I smell a big devaluation coming.
