Awesome Amex Offer For Neiman Marcus Purchases

Awesome Amex Offer For Neiman Marcus Purchases

12

The Amex Offers program frequently has promotions that can save you money or earn you bonus points for purchases you’d make anyway. While I usually focus on offers for travel (particularly for hotel stays and airlines), there’s a fantastic shopping offer at the moment that I plan to take advantage of.

Spend $250 with Neiman Marcus, get 5K bonus points

There’s a new targeted Amex Offer deal whereby you can earn 5,000 bonus Membership Rewards points when you spend $250+ in one or more transactions with Neiman Marcus. The offer is valid for purchases through June 6, 2023.

There’s also a version out there for a $50 statement credit rather than a 5,000 Membership Rewards points bonus, though I’d definitely prefer the points bonus. That’s because I value Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each, so that’s the equivalent of an $85 return, by my valuation, getting you over a one-third discount on such a purchase.

Do be aware of the following terms:

  • This is valid both in-store at US locations and online at neimanmarcus.com
  • Excludes gift cards purchased in-store or online, restaurants and cafés located in-store, and Gift Now transactions
  • Not valid for Neiman Marcus Last Call, Cusp by Neiman Marcus, The Heart of Neiman Marcus, or purchases shipped outside of the US

While I’m not usually a Neiman Marcus customer, the reason I think this is worth highlighting is that most high-end department stores have standardized pricing for big brand items.

For example, whether you’re looking for perfume or skincare products or candles or many clothing items, you’ll pay the same for a specific brand no matter where you buy it.

If you make a purchase online, be sure you also use an online shopping portal to earn even further rewards.

Bottom line

If you’d otherwise consider making a purchase with another high-end department store, this is definitely a reason to shop with Neiman Marcus instead. I value the 5,000 Membership Rewards points at a roughly 35% return, plus whatever you’d earn through a shopping portal and your credit card spending.

Was your account targeted for this Neiman Marcus Amex Offer, and if so, do you plan on taking advantage of it?

Wasn’t targeted for this one, but I used to get tons of MR offers and I racked up a lot of points that way. For the past couple of years I only get cash-back offers. Sucks.

Great offer. Unfortunately I’m not targeted.

    Goose eggs for me. :(

Which is sorta’ okay, since the sole N-M in DC closed and I don’t find myself in the Tysons Corner area too often.

Excludes Neiman Marcus Last Call locations, gift cards purchased online, Gift Registry, Gift Now transactions, restaurants and cafés located in-store, Cusp by Neiman Marcus, and The Heart of Neiman Marcus.

Appears gift purchases in store, are a go.

I got the $50 one. Not worth it. But the 5k points would have been. Shame.

    Ben ,
I am reading The T and C and it seems like gift cards purchased online are excluded, but I believe in store gift card purchases are eligible

There's also a similar offer for 2,500 MR points for $125 in spend at Lululemon.

Wow, 2,500 MR points for half of a pair of yoga pants

Why do you have to be so negative and also be incorrect at the same time?

Pants at lululemon are about $125-$150 per pair, so you're already incorrect with the "Half" argument.
What a miserable person you are.

Never trust known corporate criminal Neiman marcus.rated 1.06 by the better business bureau out of 5..
They defraud their consumers. Have had multiple class action lawsuits..Just ripped off their creditors 2.667 billion in bankruptcy... Steer clear.

Received the cash-back offer on the personal Gold card - Spend $250+ get a $50 statement credit. Assuming you spend exactly $250 you're getting a 20% discount, not bad for the types of products Ben mentioned that never go on sale - fragrances, high-end candles, skincare products, etc.
