Horror: Massive Snake Pulled Out Of Aircraft Wing

Horror: Massive Snake Pulled Out Of Aircraft Wing

As someone who hates snakes, this is kind of terrifying…

Snake removed from wing of airplane

I’m not sure what the backstory is, or when and where this video was even taken, but there’s video footage online of a huge snake being removed from the wing of an airplane. There’s primarily one person yanking on the tail of the snake, trying to pull it out, but struggling.

After pulling for nearly a minute, the snake finally comes out. I’d assume that the snake is somewhere around eight feet long, given that it extends just about the entire way from the wing to the ground, while there are probably around two feet between the wing and the top of the heads of the people standing near it.

Like I said, it’s possible that this video is old, and I don’t know much else, but I hadn’t seen it before, so I imagine others will get a kick out of it as well. Or perhaps more accurately, as someone who hates snakes, I accidentally saw this video, and now you have to see it too. 😉

This isn’t the first “snakes on a plane” incident

Of course when an incident like this occurs, Samuel L. Jackson’s 2006 “Snakes on a Plane” movie probably comes to mind. The reality is that it’s pretty rare for snakes to be discovered on planes, though it does happen.

For example, in February 2022, a snake was discovered in the lighting panel on an AirAsia Airbus A320 flying from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Tawau (TWU). The plane ended up diverting to offload the non-ticketed creature. I’m not sure if this was scarier because the snake was overhead, or less scary because it was behind a panel.

Meanwhile in November 2016, a snake was discovered in the overhead console on an Aeromexico Embraer 190 flying from Torreón (TRC) to Mexico City (MEX). The plane continued its flight, was captured by passengers, and was removed upon landing.

Back in 2013, a 10-foot python hitched a ride on the wing of a Qantas turboprop flying from Cairns (CNS) to Port Moresby (POM). While the snake managed to stay on the wing for the entire flight, it was found dead upon arrival.

Bottom line

While there’s not much context, video footage has emerged of a snake being pulled out of the wing of a jet, and it’s quite a sight.

Am I the only one suddenly itching everywhere?

My last point explained how I dealt with quite a severe snake phobia. You can do it, and along the way realise that they are quite beautiful creatures. Given you travels you may well have been a lot closer to snakes that you might realise.

What about Guam for a trip :)

Apparently jets are just one big heat rock for snakes. Early in the pandemic when nobody was flying I read snake proofing was needed for the fleets parking in the middle of nowhere. Yuck.
