Switching seats?

Switching seats?

  1. Patrickj Member

my wife and I are traveling on Cathay JFK – HKG. I was able to get one first reservation and one economy (hopefully business opens up). Are we allowed to switch seats during the flight? I would only do it once midway through the flight but wanted to make sure it was ok. Neither of us have ever experienced first class before so I want us both to enjoy.

    Thank you

Your question has seemed to fall into the deep vaults of the Ask Lucky forum. This will bump your question up hopefully to be answered 🙂

I think it really depends on the discretion of the crew. I wouldn’t expect it but you might be pleasantly surprised. I definitely wouldn’t expect them to serve full meals etc to both of you. CX J is nice too so I hope you manage to get the Y person into that!

Hi @Patrickj — Generally not, but we’ll cross our fingers for a second seat to open up in first class for you guys!
