Swiss vs Lufthansa
Dear Lucky,
In few months I will have the opportunity to fly first class from Europe to USA (first time first class, no idea when I will be able to fly it again). I wanted to ask you – would you rather recommend Lufthansa or Swiss first class? I was thinking about taking flight to USA with Lufthansa (via Munich – there are no tickets in First Basic reservation class left for Frankfurt) and to Europe with Swiss (the same with Frankfurt and reservation class).
Thank you!
Best regards,
Hello Filip.
Where in the US are you going and when? LH will be cutting a lot of F flights out of Munich soon

Thanks for answering – I will be flying before cancellation – in June.

Welcome
Frankly if the schedule sounds good LH out and LX back sounds like a good idea.
Just be careful when booking paid tickets on LX F, they have a bit crazy rules when it comes to says tickets booked true United

If you can take both, that sounds ideal! Enjoy the trip!
Thank you all for your replies. I have last question – is information regarding airoplane type quite reliable on LH and SWISS booking sites? I will be flying to Boston and I have noticed that sometimes a340 (with older first class) is put on this route. Both websites show a330 for my dates. Once again thank you!
@Filip90 there are never any guarantees with plane types. The best you can do is go by what is shown when you are booking the flight.
Ok, thanks – so I hope I will be just lucky. And looking forward to spending time in new first class lounge in Zurich (although haven’t been to any other so not much to compare).
Hi all
(My first post here :))
I will be flying one way Europe to LAX
What would you take LX F or LH F?
Thanks for your answers
Do you have Miles & More status or are you purchasing a ticket? LX only releases F award space to it’s own elite members and Europe to LAX on LH F is pretty tough to get on awards.
Personally, I enjoyed LH F very much but I havent flown LX before so I cant compare. I dont think you’ll be disappointed with either option though. Also try to route thru FRA for the LH FCT! You’ll be granted access as long as you have a same day F ticket for LH or LX

Thanks!
I will be using miles.
I already visited FCT before so my real question is the onboard product.
LX’s F product is still very similar to this review, I think. You might be able to find a newer review on Flyertalk.
