I bought a ticket through United that includes travel on Lufthansa:
Flight #1: US to Europe – operated by United
Flight #2: Europe to [int’l destination] – operated by LH

Flight #3: [int’l destination] to Europe – operated by LH
Flight #4: Europe to US – operated by LH

I have reserved seats with the respective operating carriers. If I check in online for flight 1 through united.com:
    a) will I be able to get a boarding pass for the LH segment?
    b) will united.com mess up the LH pre assigned seats?

    Thanks

    Hi Bill!

It shouldn’t mess anything up — worst case you’ll be checked in for your UA flight, then told to go to the LH site to check in for the next segment.

the only problem is that sometimes one airline’s RES number won’t work in another airline’s website, but it should work
