Carry on allowance on a codeshare flight
We are less than 3 weeks from a trip I’ve been planning for a while.
I booked most of the flights with miles in business class (MCO-DUB-LHR on EI and SZG-LGW LHR-MIA-MCO). Problem is that I needed to get from LHR-SZG and had to book flight on the one day of the week that BA doesn’t fly direct between them. I had several options but found an acceptable fare on ITA with Air Berlin which I booked on Expedia LHR-TXL-SZG in economy. From my receipt I can see the LHR-TXL is actually an BA flight (operated as a codeshare).
So, my dilemma is trying to figure out how much hand baggage I’d be allowed on the flight. While I’m very happy that our Travelpro Roll-Aboard fits within the size guidelines. For weight, BA’s website allows a much heavier bag, 23kg vs the 8kg listed on Air Berlin’s website.
Since our first flight is on BA metal but AB stock and connecting to an AB plane in TXL, who do I go by??? Just packing light won’t work. Can I chance they won’t weigh the hand bag at TXL on the connection? Anyone with any experience with this would be appreciated.
