Best aircraft for ORD-EDI

Best aircraft for ORD-EDI

I was looking to book a family trip for 4 next summer in business or first. I was looking for the most comfortable, and enjoyable aircraft with lie flat seats for a family. I wanted one connection at most since kids will be flying. I was looking at Virgin Atlantic’s 787-9 from ORD-LHR, then on to EDI. Don’t see a lot of reviews on it. Would you recommend it or a different aircraft for the best experience? Miles needed are not an issue.

Are you talking about flying on miles or a paid ticket?

Are the kids big enough to sit in their own seats or are we talking lap children here?

4 J award seats on 1 flight might be hard to find during summer.

Have you read this review on the 787-9?

Miles, kids are 8 and 14. I’ve found 4 j award seats on US air’s A330 from PHL and Lufthansa connecting through FRA in the past, so I know it’s possible. Just need to keep looking and be patient. I’ve seen availability on Virgin Atlantic’s 787-9, so I know it’s out there. Just not sure if it would be the best product for the trip or not. Wondering if a different product would be recommended for the best experience? Thanks for the link, I’ll take a look.
