Shanghai Airlines 787-9

Shanghai Airlines 787-9

    Hello Lucky,

Just wanna let you know that Shanghai Airlines (which is China Eastern Airlines wholly owned subsidiary) just released their new 787-9 cabin details on their official Weibo (Chinese Twitter). Rumour says that they will receive the first aircraft B-1111 on Jun 6th. It will be their 100th aircraft. There are 285 seats F4 C26 W28 Y227. The first row is 4 first class which is said to be the same as MH A350 F which is Thompson Aero Vantage First. There is no divider between first and business. The business cabin is the interesting part. They are using the exactly same seat as Delta One Suites. I think they add a wireless controller as you can see in the photo. Premium economy will be 2-4-2. One more first class to review xD. Hard product is new but the soft product will probably be the same because since last August 1st they have unified operations so they can mix up planes and crews. In the beginning 787 will operate domestic routes but later they will be base in SHA aka Hongqiao and operate Japan, Korea and southeast Asia routes.

Shanghai Airlines will receive 1 in June, 1 in July, 1 in August, 4 in 2019, 2 in 2020, 1 in 2021. Besides that, China Eastern Yunnan Airlines (which operates separately) will receive 1 in October, 2 in 2019, 1 in 2020, 1 in 2021.
China Eastern Airlines will also have A350-900 coming this year. There are 288 seats F4 C36 W32 Y216.
CA 3U CZ and HU’s three subsidiaries will receive A350 in 2018 or later. A lot more reviews xD.

PS: I guess the business class seat choice is based upon a potential Delta takeover in 20 years LOL.

After several delays B-1111 just arrived at SHA. Since it’s the 100th airplane in FM’s fleet, it has the not so special ‘100’ livery. Initial route is SHA-CTU. On the second day. it’s flying to several domestic destinations.

    hi Lucky,

according to Routes Online, Shanghai Airlines will fly its 4 class Dreamliners long haul between Budapest and Shanghai from June onwards. One more international first class to tick from your list? 🙂
