Looks like the AS/JL partnership is starting with codesharing on certain routes: http://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/267615/jal-alaska-airlines-begins-codeshare-partnership-from-late-june-2016/
Does anyone know why only certain routes are part of a codeshare and not all routes? Wouldn’t it be better to codeshare a larger network, since AS and JL both have domestic flights in their home markets in addition to JL’s TPAC routes?
Maybe pre-existing contractual obligations or they can’t agree on pricing?
