Which hotel promotion is better this summer IHG or SPG
Hi Lucky and the greater travel community Pros
I want get your take on which hotel chain to choose this summer to maximize my reward benefits between IHG and SPG. I will be travelling for business for 30 nights and my offer for IHG share forever promotion is getting 78000 bonus,1000 pts and one additional night to share after staying 30 nights and of course SPG has the triple points promotion. I have platinum status with both chains. The destination I am going has a Holiday Inn and a Sheraton. Sheraton has concierge lounge which will have breakfast and evening reception and bonus 500 points/day for not using house keeping which I intent to take advantage off. Holiday Inn don’t offer these options. I tend to go with SPG but want to you to weigh in on this
Much appreciated and thanks in advance
Hi Rad – objectively those SPG points are far more valuable than the IHG points. That being said, it all depends on how you plan to use the points you’ll earn. If you don’t have specific plans for them then I’d definitely go with SPG.
How soon will you be able to complete the 30 nights?
Hyatt’s 25 nights 75K is worth if there is a property in your vicinity.
Apart from that, if you are not sure on how to use those points, I would stick to SPG. Just check if that Sheraton is part of the triple play promo or not.
