SPG/Hyatt Upgrades

SPG/Hyatt Upgrades

I’m SPG Gold and Hyatt Platinum by way of the Amex Platinum and Hyatt cards.

In regards to complimentary upgrades, how would they work for points and points & cash nights? If available, would I be upgraded to the next category room?

Specifically, I’d be booking into the base room types at either the W London Leicester Square or Andaz Liverpool St and W Hong Kong or Hyatt Regency Hong Kong (I prefer the Kowloon side)

    Thanks!

@DavidW — They should all be treated the same.

That being said, I wouldn’t expect much of an upgrade at those status levels. You can typically avoid the worst rooms in the hotel with mid-tier status, but the benefits aren’t great otherwise.

Thanks Tiffany. I think paid nights are high for the days I’m in HK and London but not astronomically high enough where points or points and cash are a great value for the SPG properties. Hyatt and their points are easier for me to accrue so I guess I’ll be going that route.

    Thanks!
    David
