Marriott lounges

Has anyone inquired or heard any information from Marriott about when they will be reopening the concierge lounges?

I’ve been back traveling for almost a year now and I understand why the lounges have been closed but now it seems like they’re taking advantage of the situation and it’s not a priority to get them open.   Why are they opening other revenue generating outlets (bars, restaurants, etc.) but not one of the big perks for us road warriors?

Curious if lounge reopening will be chain decision or individual hotel choice. From my recent travels, it seems that the brand standards and amenity offerings are left up to individual property. Stayed at a Marriott weekend of 5/15 two nights- while there was no housekeeping, room was prepared for that. I’ve never seen some many towels, extra bar soap, extra box of Kleenex, extra bags for ice, etc. Restaurants open regular hours and full menus, bar closed at 11pm. Property appeared to be 50-60% occupied. Memorial Day weekend, a 4 night stay. No housekeeping, no extra supplies, very limited restaurant hours and menu choices, and bar closed at 9pm. This hotel was nearly or fully booked each night. Both nice properties in tourist destinations, but one felt like the traditional full service Marriott pre-covid, the other like a limited service property. I know it’s first world problems, but brand consistency is important to me, especially if I’m travelling to a destination I don’t know well.
