GSU (DSU) upgrade – Hyatt
Hi,
I called yesterday to redeem my first GSU on a reservation I had previously made at the HR Sydney.
My GSU was confirmed, and I received an email confirmation of the upgrade, but I’m a little concerned because in my Hyatt account, it’s showing the actual rate of the Suite (rather than the original rate under which I made the reservation).
Should I be concerned, or is this how GSU (DSU) awards are handled?
Thanks!
I’d shoot them a DM on twitter to make sure something hasn’t gotten bungled. That way you’ll have the response in writing too.
Thanks, @Gaurav – I sent them a DM on Twitter, and they are reviewing it. (They just needed additional information to confirm my identity).
Update: Well, that was somewhat disappointing. Hyatt on Twitter got back to me and confirmed that they have updated the price for the stay (bringing it back to my original booked price, rather than suite price).
But, what I’m no longer seeing in the reservation is a confirmation that it is utilizing a GSU (there was a note in the previous reservation).
I’m debating at this point whether I want to just take my chances that I will be upgraded (as part of the new WoH), or whether I should pursue it further. I just don’t want the rate messed up again…
I’d go back on Twitter and ask if your GSU is still being honored, after this error was corrected.
Thanks, @David W – I did go back to them, and they confirmed that the reservation is for the suite. 🙂
So, now I have it in writing!
