Comparing SPG to Hilton points

Comparing SPG to Hilton points

At top tier for SPG, you get 4 PPD and 15 PPD for Hilton (10 base points+ 50% bonus). I know that Hilton charges MUCH more for stays but, is a 1 starpoint:3.75 Hhonors points a good comparison?

I think it varies based on your usage patterns, tier levels etc. I think I’ve seen most people peg SPG somewhere around 2.2c and Hilton around 0.4-0.5c. So with that ratio you’re looking at 1:4-5.

It can also depend on what type of redemption you’re after. With Hilton you can redeem for non-standard rooms, like the 2-BR condo I got in Fiji. I’ve not redeemed for SPG rooms but it seems like on the website they only ever show standard rooms.

It’s also worth noting that our valuations might not match your valuations, so it can make sense to come up with comparative numbers for yourself. More on that here: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2016/09/23/what-are-miles-worth/
