Combining Hyatt Points
It looks like the form to combine Hyatt points has been changed since Lucky wrote this post:

Now you have to include the actual reservation number for the award night on the form, although Hyatt’s T&Cs for Gold Passport redemptions say that making a reservation without a sufficient number of points may result in the reservation being canceled.
10. When member makes a Hyatt Gold Passport award reservation, the corresponding number of Hyatt Gold Passport points for that reservation will be automatically deducted from member’s account within 3 days of booking. If member does not have a sufficient number of Hyatt Gold Passport points in their account, the reservation may be canceled or changed to the Standard Rate. If member cancels a Hyatt Gold Passport award reservation in compliance with the hotel’s cancellation policy, any corresponding Hyatt Gold Passport points that have been deducted from member’s account will be returned to the account within 3 days of the cancellation. If a member has an award stay reservation, checks in, and departs earlier than the confirmed checkout date, the member forfeits any unused portion of the award and corresponding points.

Has anyone combined points under this new system? It doesn’t make sense to me how you would already have a reservation number for an award night you didn’t have enough points to book.
I’ve always just done it on the phone, which has worked just fine.
@Tiffany, do you mean that as the transferer, you call up Hyatt GP and give them the transferee’s GP # and the amount of points to be transferred and that’s it? That would be so much easier than dealing with that silly form (not to mention a fax machine).
Interesting, I transferred points about three weeks ago and didn’t see that field. I would just write in “Points transfer needed to make reservation”. Also, @chancepress, you can complete the form in Acrobat Reader and email it to , much easier than faxing.
@chancepress — Yep, I’ve always done it over the phone with the Diamond line. They’ll often ask to talk to the other person, but as I’m usually just transferring points between household accounts that’s not a huge burden.
Emailing sounds like a good option too though!
