The cheap American business class fares for a SFO/LAX-JFK-MIA-PTY routing have been discussed on FlyerTalk for a long while. Just wondering if any of the readers here on at OMAAT have taken advantage of this deal.

I found out this week I’m being forced to take a one week (unpaid) furlough at work (long story…), so of course I’m thinking of spending more money. Figured it might be time to have my first mileage run.

My week off is June 13th. Best fare I can find is ~$1200, compared to the ~$800 fares many many others have found with this deal. Mileage will get me within ~5000 EQM’s of Platinum. (Should I pay the $200 for the Platinum challenge and get status that way??)

Basically just outsourcing ideas for what I should do during my furlough week. Visit Panama? Go camping in Yosemite? Find a beach in Mexico?
