Aaron P Member…AA’s PE pricing is all f-d up. I was booked in Economy for next month MIA-DFW-PEK/PVG-DFW-MIA.
The PVG-DFW is 787-900 so this leg has PE. I called the Platinum desk to take the 15,000 upgrade from Coach. I was told I’m was not eligible because it had to be full fare Economy. Then, the agent kind of confided in me that I could move pretty cheaply from my discounted economy to PE. I told her to price it. She put me on hold and told me $100. While I was on hold, I checked the difference on AA.com. It was $1,200! She came back on, took my CC information and now for $100 I’m in PE on the PVG-DFW segment. This also gives 1.5 x EQM for PE for that segment. I’m also WL for Business Class…

that’s great! Too bad there’s no cheap paid upgrades from AA PE to Biz on the 789. I’m flying them in PE on LAX-HND next month.
