Why doesn’t UA open more saver award travel?

Why doesn’t UA open more saver award travel?

I am wondering if capacity is so reduced , why does United not release more saver award seats in premium cabins? Or is that expected in the near future?

UA/AA/DL have all gone to variable pricing on their award charts which means you’ll see fewer saver awards on their own planes. For now award availability is typically better on their partners but that really only helps if you’re flying internationally.

It will be interesting to see what happens with award seats in light of all the cuts they’re making due to COVID-19. With demand down so much one would think they’re going to start slashing prices and/or making award seats available but just because something sounds logical to me doesn’t mean they’ll actually do that!
