Which first class product out of HKG/NRT?

Which first class product out of HKG/NRT?

    Hey Lucky,

I’m planning a trip to Asia for April, looking at visiting HK, China, and Japan with my girlfriend. The departing leg can vary for us (e.g., we can leave from either HKG or NRT) and we live in Toronto. Which first class product should I try to book for the one-way flight back for both of us to YYZ? I have mostly AC Aeroplan and AMEX Membership rewards.

I’ve read a bunch of reviews and think that the ANA product looks like a good option, but interested in your thoughts.

Are your Amex MR points the Canadian version, which I think has less transfer partners or isnt all a 1:1 transfer ratio? I’m not totally sure.

I’d consider transferring Amex MR points to British Airways or AsiaMiles so that you can book Cathay or JAL First. I know that out of HKG, BA awards dont pass on fuel surcharges.

ANA or EVA is a great option for the Aeroplan miles. Aeroplan sometimes does spit out award itineraries for Asia to North America via Europe. If you can get that and get on Lufthansa First Class via Frankfurt, that’d be fantastic.

Delta’s program allows for some decent redemptions on

Lastly, you can transfer points to Singapore Airlines for NRT-LAX or SFO-HKG on SQ. You’d need another award or paid ticket for LAX/SFO-YYZ. Or you can include it on the SQ award and forfeit the SQ 15% off online award bookings.
