What are the best routes to make Exec Platinum fast?
I have only until year end to make executive Platinum by year end and i am wondering what the longest routes are from NY area airports?
I spoke to American and was told that regular mileage balances are based on Revenue but Elite Status is still based on miles traveled…..at least for this year still.
I would really appreciate help with this as I amiable to easily obtain this information accurately fom AA.
Thank you very much!
I Just joined and I need help please?
I have only until year end. I was told by American Airlines that for Elite status, it is still based on
miles flown (not Revenue), at least for the rest of the year.
What are the longest routes I can take from the NYC area on AA to accumulate miles now throgh year end?
Please let me know.
Thank you very much< Eric S.
Welcome @Eric S – I’d take a look at Google Flights to see various routes and pricing. See Tiffany’s post: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/06/09/using-google-flights-to-find-cheap-fares/
Keep in mind that if you book through AA and credit to AA you’ll earn 5 miles per dollar spent. You may be better off flying a partner, like Alaska, and crediting the flight to AA, provided you’ve already got 4 segments on AA metal this year. Check out http://www.wheretocredit.com to see what fare classes will give you the biggest bang for the buck.
Good luck!
Are you at zero miles credited to AA? EXP is going to be difficult – 100k EQMs so unless youre really planning on flying a TON in the next two and a half months, you may not attain that status. Depending on the fare and airline partner, you could be earning between Zero to 3 EQMs per mile flown so check fare classes carefully before making any bookings.

II am a lifetime Platinum member at 30K miles this year (past 2 months)
I am figuring that if its possible…why not? So I also get 8 points /dollar spent.
I am also concerned that they may make Elite status miles Revenue based as well next year.
Thank you both very much for your help. So far it looks like JFK to LAX to Sydney and back is the best at 20K miles round trip.

Thank you for these sites…very insightful. just still trying to figure most possible miles on one route.
To maximize EQMs I’d probably fly biz (if that is within your budget) according to ITA matrix most of the Biz fares are in the D fare class which gets you 1.5 EQMs on QF and 125% of miles flown in terms of redeemable miles
