You’d look on the BA website to be sure you saw the award space on Aer Lingus flights and then call BA.

I also found it incredibly easy to book on Aer Lingus’ site. In truth it directs you to Avios.com, which allows you to search Aer Lingus, BA and Iberia. It is incredibly easy to transfer Avios from your BAEC account to an Avios.com account. I just found searching for Aer Lingus award flights was “less clunky” on avios.com than on BA.
