Using AA miles on IB

Using AA miles on IB

  1. Anonymous Guest

Booked business class seats from DTW to VCE . Could only book 2 and need 3 was able to book one person on same itinerary but Day prior. I check availability daily. The problem is the ORD to MAD segment which is on IB. I happened to call IB on a seat assignment issue and asked if they show availability for an award seat on the day I wanted. They said yes and that it was available for partner airlines as well. I also checked on the BA site and the seat was available there as well. When I contacted AA I received no help. Actually, was told I shouldn’t have called IB and that they wouldn’t check with them regarding that availability, could only check what they show in their system.

There is available on BA on same day but don’t want to pay their exorbitant fees when flying through London.

    Any thought or advice?
