    If you use UA miles to book J on LH, and then closer to departure F space opens up – can you call UA and upgrade with UA miles? You can do that on CX with AA miles, wonder if it works on LH with UA miles…

    [USER=1241]@T.A.[/USER] Yes you can, unfortunately you have to pay change fees to UA unlike AA which will just take the extra miles.

    is that change fee reasonable more or less? or completely unrealistic?

    I paid $150 per ticket last time when I had to do the change. I don’t think it’s changed but you should definitely double check.
