Upgrading Cathay Pacific Booked through American

Hello,

I booked a revenue ticket through American for CLT->IAD->HKG->DPS with IAD->HKG and HKG->DPS on Cathay Pacific. Is it possible for me to use the Upgrade Bid or upgrade with Asia Miles for those legs even though it was booked through American? I do not have a record locator that is recognized by Cathay Pacific’s system and I cannot seem to get a hold of someone on the American help desk that seems to know the answer.

You can obtain your Cathay record locator by calling AA and asking for it. As for the upgrade, I dont believe it’s possible since Cathay didnt issue the ticket.
