Upgrade on LH from Z to F

Upgrade on LH from Z to F

Hello–we ar flying from FRA to SFO—we are in Z Class. Is it possible to use miles or evouchers to upgrade to First. Or do I need to upgrade my ticket to J, C, D to be allowed to upgrade? Thanks

Just to clarify – were the tickets issued by Lufthansa or by one of their Star Alliance partners?

Thank you for the response—I purchased the tickets through Amex but they are issued as Lufthansa Tickets

Lufthansa does allow double upgrades to business, but not triple (premium economy counts as one) and I don’t believe Z is an eligible fare class regardless.

You’d need at least W to upgrade from economy to business, but to upgrade to first you’d need to be in C, D, or J: http://www.miles-and-more.com/online/portal/mam/in/nonav/no_taxonomy_simple?nodeid=309939399&l=en&cid=1000267
