United Travelbank Expiring Funds

United Travelbank Expiring Funds

  1. JK flyer New Member

    Hi OMAAT Friends!

I have ~$1000+ in United Travelbank funds – $500 of which is expiring on 10/1.

I reached out to United to get them to extend the expiration, which they have (unsurprisingly) refused.

Was hoping to use the funds on my honeymoon next November, but trying to figure out the best way to salvage them. Considering their new change fee policy, should I book 2x ~$250 fights for way out next year (in mine and my fiancees name) and use the remaining funds with a later expiration in the future?

Know UA won’t give back the difference if you change to a cheaper flight – so was curious for some ideas.

    Thanks so much!
    JK
