United seat map question

United seat map question

  1. Taroman New Member

    Hi all!

I was looking at booking business class award on United metal and came across this seat map. It looks like it’s a mix between the old 8-abreast and polaris, and I’m a bit confused by it. Does anyone know?

For reference, it is NRT-ORD flight in November on 777-200

    Thanks!

Eh the photo’s not getting uploaded but I guess it’s just the old first class seats up front – please disregard!

It’s the old layout with the three class service, which was discontinued. https://onemileatatime.com/united-cutting-first-class-2018/ United hasn’t finished updating their fleet with the new Polaris seats.
I’m not a United loyalist but I believe you can select the forward cabin seats for business class fares.

On top of this, I believe you have to be 1K or higher to select at time of booking. I’m UA gold and I wasn’t able to select these seats during booking on a flight from London to SF and I confirmed that they were blocked.

Not surprised there are conditions on their seat selections.
