Two tickets at same time

Two tickets at same time

Hi. I have a question. I have a HKG-JFK business class award ticket booked. Is it risky if I book at the same time a HKG-TPE first class award using avios (18000) that leaves same time as my actual flight, just to get access to the first class lounges at HKG?

Not if you don’t mind losing the points. BA cancel min is 24 hours prior.

But is it risky, meaning could I get in trouble with Cathay or will they cancel my main ticket if they noticed as I have 2 simultaneous flights?

They might, as might BA if you book both sets of tickets through them.

With that said, while the CX lounges in HKG are nice, I’m not sure I’d spend 18,000 avios to access them.
