My renewal for my Global entry card has been approved and I have activated the card. I did not receive a new card. Is the old one still valid though the expiration is now several months old. I wrote them sometime in April with no response. Any help will be appreciated.

It should be valid through its expiration. However my replacement came in about a week after my interview so I’d definitely follow up to see what is happening with yours. With the backlog maybe they are prioritizing accounts that are expiring sooner.

When I renewed my Global Entry, I never received a new card and at the time it was my understanding that there was none forthcoming.

Hmm, interesting. I just renewed (in May) and I did receive a new card. Same picture, same #, everything, except the barcode is a bit different. And I was also expecting an interview (the email when I applied to renew said a further email about scheduling an interview would be forthcoming). I received the card in the mail about 2 days before I got the e-mail saying “Congrats…”

Mine renewed in 2017 so maybe they’re replacing the cards now. I have my original expired card although the passport number has changed over. No one ever asks for it so I figure it’s not worth the hassle of having to get one. I have had no trouble using Global Entry so it should be good. And I didn’t have an interview when renewing.

Interesting. Did they specifically tell you that you were exempt from the interview @Gia?

@Gaurav – I don’t recall if they specifically stated I was exempt but I received a message that the renewal was complete through their website and I was never directed to schedule an interview. Of course, I had the standard interview the first time. Is everyone else doing a renewal interview?

Interesting. My wife and I both had to go in for a renewal interview in July. Didn’t do much other than take new pictures and fingerprints but was still a pain.
