Travelling in a code-shared flight

Travelling in a code-shared flight

  1. Anonymous Guest

Hey guys, I have a friend who is a UA pilot, and as usual he gets a free business class flight each year. This past March he traveled EWR-MAD-TFS and back, however the MAD-TFS in IB Business class. My question is, is it actually true that pilots from airline A (in this case UA) can travel for free in business class of an airline B (IB), even if it is a code-shared flight?
