Transfer Credit Card Balances

Transfer Credit Card Balances

  1. walester Gold

This is probably a silly question, but I thought I would ask anyway….

I recently acquired two new credit cards – an AMEX Delta Skymiles card and a Chase Sapphire Reserve card. The Chase card gives bonus points after a $5000 spend in the first three months, and the AMEX card gives bonus points after a $5000 spend in the first three months. Could I charge $5000+ in transactions on one card, and then use the Transfer Credit Card Balance feature to transfer the balance to the other card? In that way, I could earn bonus points on both cards with just one $5000 spend. In other words, can you earn points by transferring a credit card balance?

    TIA for your help!

Welcome @walester – nope, you can’t earn points by transferring a balance.
