“The Baltics With My Dad” Trip Report question
In the introduction to the trip report Lucky mentions
We booked the following about a week before departure for 80,000 Aeroplan miles plus 343USD in taxes and fees per person:
8/14 LH441 Houston to Frankfurt departing 3:50PM arriving 8:35AM (+1 day) [First]
8/15 LH882 Frankfurt to Tallinn departing 2:05PM arriving 5:20PM [Business]
When I price out the same itinerary on the Aeroplan website the taxes and fees per person are about double what lucky paid. Can anyone shed some light on this?
You know, in looking at it I think it’s because they had previously-issued tickets from the trip they were supposed to take last year, so they “only” paid the difference in taxes and fees from what they had already paid.
Eastbound transatlantic YQ on Lufthansa should be ~$650, plus the other taxes, so what you’re seeing on Aeroplan is likely correct. Westbound is much lower (~$200).
