SPG vs freedom unlimited

SPG vs freedom unlimited

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hello.

I’m about to buy business, which I expect the expense to be around $300000 a year. I wonder what would you rather have 300000 spg or 450000 URs from freedom unlimited?
I only travel to Thailand once a year, and might try to stop-over in Asia.

Though there is no freedom unlimited for business I’m not sure if it ok to use personal card for business expense.

Also, can I have multiple business blue plus cards? I rather earn 2 MRs than spg and 1.5 URs.

    Thank you!

Personally, I’d rather have 450k URs. While SPG has more transfer partners, I’ve found Korean and Singapore to be excellent programs for trips to Asia. (With excellent stopover policies)

The IRS mostly prefers that business and personal expenses are not commingled, so from that perspective it doesn’t really matter what card you use as long as you try and keep things separate. Card issuers design business cards to be more attractive for business use, but I doubt there’d really be an issue.

As for multiple accounts of the same type of business card, if they are truly separate businesses with separate EINs, then you should have no trouble getting another account. It could be problematic if you use your SSN for both. Please note, though, that you only get 2xMR on the first $50k per year. So depending on what categories your business spending will be in, you’d be well served to get multiple cards to maximize your points earnings.
