SPG or DELTA for AMEX Transfer?

SPG or DELTA for AMEX Transfer?

  1. Anonymous Guest

What would you do? My wife/I EACH have 50K AMEX points with annual fee due. We thought about moving them all to Delta(live in Atlanta) and figured we would get $1500 worth of value from those points – $750 each. We are leaning towards taking the bad redemption of 333 per 1000 to convert them to SPG points to utilize the Night/Flights program. Moving those 100K AMEX to SPG with our existing points gets us to 70K SPG points. We are figuring the Nights/Flights 50K airline miles to say American Airlines and 5 free nights somewhere would be a bigger haul overall. Do you agree? Additionally, does the redemption rate ever improve to 500 per 1000? Thanks!

How about looking at an Amex EveryDay with no annual fee? That way you can wait to transfer the points until you’re ready.

And nope, the redemption rate for Amex > SPG always sucks.
