Southwest companion pass – int’l travel

Southwest companion pass – int’l travel

  1. kv mke New Member

Does anyone know if a Southwest Companion Pass can be used on international flights? I’ve checked the Southwest website and can’t find an answer. (Doesn’t mean it’s not there; just that I can’t find it.)

I know that Southwest isn’t a big topic of conversation on this site, but it’s the airline that’s most convenient for me so I try to maximize what I can get.

    Thanks in advance.

    11. You can add your companion to international flights. When Southwest bought Airtran, it acquired service to international destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean, and will add service to Costa Rica in 2015. These flights are also eligible for the Companion Pass, though keep in mind that companion tickets still require payment of government imposed taxes and fees, which are higher on international routes.
