I booked a saver award Biz Class Flight on Singapore Airlines a couple of weeks ago and am now trying to book two more advantage flights for my kids who are under 10. Looking online I am seeing availability, but since both bookings are for kids I had to call it in. I spoke to the agent and he was telling me that he was only seeing standby. He then stated that his system is different than what I am seeing online. Should i just cancel my flight and then just book all 3 flights together. I’m just confused as to why i can see availability but the agent can not. I even went as far to get to the final screen when they ask for the credit card info.
Are you booking with Singapore’s own miles or with a partner’s? If I were in this situation, I’d want to be on the same reservation with the children, just so there’s no chance of accidentally getting split up in case of IRROPS and so that they don’t try to hit you with an unaccompanied minor fee.
I just called again and it seems that it was incompetence on behalf of the agent. Apparently there is a different system to book US Award Flights as opposed Singapore award flights that some of the newer agents are not aware of. The agent this morning was able to book my two kids in Biz Class from Houston to Manchester. I’ve read from Tiffany about how if you do not like the agent response, hang up and try another agent, this was a classic case of that.
It’s a strange issue. I called SQ to book a mixed cabin award because their website only a certain number of seats available for business. When I called they told me theyre able to get both flights for me in biz bc they have a different system.
