    Hello,
I’m responding to your Emirates could fly A380’s with just four flight attendants article on Apr 5..

Your 1st paragraph under “Bottom Line”…. “Definitely file this more under “interesting as an avgeek” rather than “actually important” is insensitive.

These are people that are losing out on pay, or losing their job, because the company is scaling back. You think someone losing pay is not “actually important”?

The implications of just 4 FAs operating in an A380 is no doubt important for the reasons you mentioned. The stat in itself is an interesting fact that just goes to show the impacts of this issue. No need to shame on anybody 😉

Laura, I also agree that the implications of only 4 flight attendants operating an A380 flight are significant for the reasons you mentioned. However, I think the point Ben was trying to make (at least how I read it), is that if you told someone “Emirates is operating their A380 flights with only 4 flight attendants,” the majority of people would probably assume – great! Emirates is still operating flights. So, from an aviation geek perspective, the story is interesting, because most people couldn’t tell you what an A380 is versus a regional jet.

Laura, Ricky got it spot on. That’s all he meant – take a breather. To the majority of people, 4 people working an A380 means absolutely nothing. They do not even know what an A380 is. No need to get so worked up by it. Of course people losing their jobs is something he cares about.
