RFID wallets and passport covers

RFID wallets and passport covers

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi,

Just wondering if any frequent travelers advise having an RFID-protected wallet and passport cover? How prevalent are RFID scanners?

    Thanks very much!

A cover or a case that blocks RFID wouldnt hurt. However, credit cards are moving toward the EMV Chip system (US uses chip+signature though we should really use chip+pin) Cards with RFID/NFC arent that common anymore. It’s becoming more common on phones but there are additional security measures required to activate it for use. I’m not entirely sure about the passport but I dont think scanners are that prevalent for it to be a huge problem.
