    hello

    I have just realised that I put one of the passengers name reversed.I am flying with China Southern Airlines and they can’t change it now,they told me to buy new ticket and the price is few times higher…Please tell me if there is really an issue with the name reversed and I would have problems at the airport?thank you

    You could try calling back a couple of times to see if someone can help you or ask for a supervisor. If they fly to an airport near you, you could also try to go in person to see if someone can help you. Otherwise it depends on your risk tolerance. You could show up for the flight and see if you can talk your way through a clerical mistake. Otherwise your only option might be to pay the additional costs.

    This happened to me a few years ago on a Delta flight and I didn’t notice it until I arrived at the airport and got the boarding pass for my international flight. I never said anything to anyone and I must have passed through 10 passport checks without issue. Given that half the world has reversed names I’m sure this comes up often on ticketing especially on Chinese airlines.

    If this is a paid ticket and you’re trying to earn miles, you may run into difficulty getting credit for them since the name will be reversed when compared to your FF account. But hopefully someone can apply logic and give you credit for the flight.

    I had a similar happen to me on China Airlines SFO- TPE Dec.25 @[email protected]
    I noticed late in November that the last name was incorrect for 1 passenger, I tried calling CI CSR, but everytime i called no matter what time of day they did not pick up. and Also tried going through Expedia(my agent) to correct it but they couldnt do anything and said that we could get it changed at the check in.
    by the time the flight came around, the check in agent said she couldnt do anything-_- … then spoke to the supervisor and after about 2 hours of her on the phone with CI heardquarters in taiwan, they finally were able to correct it, and charged me $50 for the change.
