i saw that alaska miles can only be redeemed on partner airlines to/from north america. i was wondering if any other mileage programme had similar restrictions? i have some aadvantage miles, would i be able to redeem them for a flight between europe and asia/australia, for example? -

To the best of my knowledge, Alaskas program is the only one with such restrictions. You shouldn’t have any problems redeeming aadvantage miles between Europe and asia/Australia.
Alaska has some exceptions though, like redeeming for Cathay flights between Asia and Europe or Australia.
