I want to use points/miles for a rental car in the US. I have Thankyou points, and ChaseUR. What is the best way to use either of these for two weeks of rental. Thanks in advance.

hi Linda–It’s probably not the best use of the points but if you need to, you can use them to rent cars. For chase, you can log into the Ultimate Rewards portal and then choose Explore and Book travel under Use Points. Then choose Cars and input your needs. You will be able to choose how much you would like to pay in cash vs points. You would get 1.25cpp this way.

Citi is similar. Choose cars under the Shop tab and input your info. You will get 1cpp for your TYP.

Using points for a rental is a terrible redemption option. Unless you absolutely can’t afford a couple hundred bucks pay for it with a CC that has a travel spend bonus.
