Release points from a OneWorld FFP After Flying

Release points from a OneWorld FFP After Flying

    Hey Lucky,

This is probably a daft question but I’m sure I remember reading about it somewhere once before.

Let’s say I have an economy flight to Europe with BA, and I want to use my Qatar Gold status (OneWorld Sapphire) to be able to use the extra luggage benefit + fast track/lounge access.

I’m nowhere near renewing my Qatar status this year, but have been building status with BA instead due to the devaluations with Qatar and my recent relocation to London. (Currently BA Blue).

Is it therefore possible for me and my travel companion to benefit from the QR luggage (essential for this trip) and lounge access, but then “release” the points so-to-speak from QRs program after flying, and retro-claim them into BAEC?

In other words, is there any way to get the benefits from the QR Gold, but earn from the trip into BAEC?

    Thanks!
    Joe

Have the gate agent change your frequent flier number before you board, that should do the trick
